A Story Years in the Making
We were both born in Canada, but our paths took us in different directions.
Adam moved to the United States as a kid and spent much of his life there before eventually returning to Canada. Jen’s story stayed rooted in Canada.
Years later, we built our life together here, became a family of five, and for a long time assumed Canada was where we’d stay.
But over time, we started asking a bigger question: where do we want to build the next chapter of our family’s life?
For Adam, America had always felt like home. For Jen, it became a place that represented something new: opportunity, possibility, and the future we wanted for our family.
What started as conversations and “what ifs” eventually became a real plan.

THE DECISION
From Dreaming to Doing
For years, moving back to the United States was something we talked about but never acted on.
It was always there in the background. We would talk about the opportunities, the lifestyle, what life could look like for the kids, and whether we were really willing to start over somewhere new.
Then one trip to Florida changed everything.
We looked at each other and said, next time we leave, it will be for good.
That was the moment the dream became a decision.
We came home and started researching what it would actually take. Immigration. Jobs. Schools. Housing. Healthcare. Taxes. The logistics of moving a family of five across an international border.
The more we learned, the more real it became.
What had once been a someday idea started turning into a plan with actual steps, timelines, paperwork, and decisions.
There have been setbacks, long waits, and plenty of moments where we have had to figure things out as we go. But the direction has never changed.
We know where we are going. Now we are doing the work to get there.
